Shared Home

An insignificant tug turned
Into a persistent wrenching
At the heart of my heart.

Keeping contentment at bay,
Always an unreachable distance
From my desperate grasp.

Ease of choice and action –
Though eagerly anticipated –
Proves to be nonexistent

When passion and practicality
Are forced to share a home,
And life and love collide.
