Silence is my beautiful paradise
To which I retreat swiftly every night,
The chance to cure mind’s maladies,
A time to pause the fight
Between the feuding thoughts and feelings
Bruising me from the inside out.
To stop incessant logic flowing,
Leaving creativity a land of drought
Soft hummings bring a peacefulness
To the chaos ruling in my self-doubt.
And the power of nothing’s noises
Strong enough to force all demons out.
Because in silence’s abyss is comfort
That thrives on concurrent unease
An unbalance that requires effort
To seek out the forest for the trees.
