Lock & Key

You have me
Under lock and key.
Not me, but
The person I am
When you choose
To appear through
The midst that’s
Settled over us.

Your love’s illusion,
But mine’s no act
And so I’m trapped.
Locked. Alone.
Imagining you here,
With me, when really
You stand on the other
Side of a bolted door.
