Off-Key

When she cries,
She cries a symphony.
When I cry,
I cry far off-key.

When her tears fall,
They fall like drifting notes.
When my tears fall,
They fall like sunken boats.

When she feels sadness,
It is her soft melody.
When I feel sadness,
It is my sharp tragedy.

  1. i think there is beautiful melody in your sharp tragedy that you put so well in your words…very poetic ❤ Thanks for dropping by my blog so I could find yours and add another wonderful writer to my reader 🙂

  2. This might be one of my favorite poems that I can recall reading. I don’t know exactly why, but I really liked the rhythm and the impactful ending and the juxtaposition of the lines. Nice work.
