To Another Dawn

Exasperation settles in like a fog
From the edifice of life,
Wanting all but its current position.
Unable to find that peaceful relief
In solitude, it yearns for the forceful
Calm of the sea’s back and forth.
Waves of repetition and rhythm
Shifting the winds, clearing the fog,
As dusk turns into restful night,
And the world slows its hectic pace,
Only to quicken once more at dawn.
